Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy & Founder of XCEED Physical Therapy
Lauren Carter earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin, followed by her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University. She chose the field of physical therapy because she values the opportunity to follow each patient’s progression over time and build meaningful therapeutic relationships. Lauren remains active in mild traumatic brain injury research as a published author in multiple scientific journals. She integrates her neuroscience background and mild traumatic brain injury research experience to guide thoughtful, evidence-based rehabilitation and performance training. Her experience in sports medicine and post-operative rehabilitation, particularly ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair, has shaped her commitment to helping individuals not only recover, but surpass their previous level of function.
Outside of the clinic, Lauren enjoys playing indoor and beach volleyball, cooking, and photography, often capturing meaningful moments and new recipes during her travels. She values empathy, collaboration, and individualized care, taking time to understand each person’s goals, routines, and motivations. Her approach focuses on building a supportive partnership with every patient and designing treatment plans that empower confidence, progress, and long-term resilience.
